Maryam Abdallah, LCSW, Founder | Clinical Director

My passion rests in helping, encouraging, and empowering you to experience yourself differently. I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy which allows me to share skills that are easy to learn and incorporate into daily living. I have over 20 years of experience working with diverse groups, including children and families, adoptive/foster parents, at-risk-youth, sexually and physically abused children, young adult offenders, social service professionals, and the LGBTQ community.

My core practice includes a holistic, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed approach. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and my Master of Social Work from Tennessee State University. Outside my work as a therapist, I’m a wife, a mother and striving to be a good human. I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to the waves on the beach, reading a book for pleasure, and taking time to do absolutely nothing but listen to myself breathe.

I am trained in EMDR, TFCBT, Written Exposure Therapy, and as a NOVA crisis responder.

I practice from a person-centered and trauma-informed approach. Cultural broaching is a major component of my work and I create a safe and inclusive therapeutic environment for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), LGBTQ+, Women, and marginalized individuals. I enjoy reading, cooking, and watching psychological thrillers on Netflix.

Imani Turner, MA, Masters Level Clinician

Life can come with many unexpected obstacles which can cause some overwhelming experiences. Often times, our instinct is to retreat when faced with negative experiences or bury them deep inside. Some of us can feel like if we seek help, we will be a burden to others which makes sitting with that feeling even more difficult. I understand the importance of having someone to simply be a source of healing and support through difficult times and Imani is here to serve clients on a journey towards restoration and relief.

I enjoy taking a CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) approach which helps clients eliminate unhelpful cycles or behaviors and replace them with healthier habits. Along with CBT, I specifically enjoy taking a psychosocial lens while introducing clients to mindfulness techniques such as deep breathing and meditation as it has been proven to reduce symptoms of anxiety, anger and depression. Something as simple as being in the moment can be taken for granted, I aim to create a comforting space for clients by being present and allowing open expression within sessions. I take pride in being an agent of support for clients to help them reach their maximum potential.

Raniqua Johnson-Maddox, MS, Masters Level Clinician

I help individuals who dream of having internal freedom and long for a higher sense of self; however, they often hold themselves back and self-sabotage with unconscious unhealthy behaviors. I support and guide them in building a better understanding of their mental health. I help empower them to learn how to break generational curses, so that they can live authentically in their own right.

I take pride in cultivating a safe place and meeting individuals where they are in their walk of life. I believe courageous people will change the world. l utilize the following interventions to help individuals become courageous, thrive and improve their quality of life: EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Psychodynamic Trauma-Focused CBT.
